Helen Frew is a seasoned advocacy professional with over 15 years of experience spent in Edinburgh, Brussels and The Hague. She has worked at the British Medical Association, the European Parliament, Scotland Europa and LIBER. She has also consulted independently for a number of years in the field of EU policy including supporting Permits Foundation with their successful campaign to improve EU intra-corporate transferee legislation for the benefit of family members.
In May 2017, Helen joined the Permits Foundation team as our International Advocacy Advisor with a focus on Europe and America. She is working to help ensure effective implementation of EU law at national level as well as using her experience to improve legislation in other countries globally in order to meet the best practice standards promoted by the Foundation.
Helen is a graduate in European History. She lives in Leiden with her husband and two children.
