Dr. Karen Lange
Head of Global Assignments, Volkswagen AG, Germany
Business assignments abroad bring with them an increased demand, not only on the actual relocated person but also on his/her partner and their relationship. By supporting the accompanying partners of foreign service employees, we maintain access to the full pool of talent within the Volkswagen Group. We take the partner's special situation into account, as well as the professional and personal challenges that go along with it. Support for the partner allows for exploring and optimally utilising development and career opportunities in the host country. Furthermore, integration and handling the new life situation in the host country must be made easier so that the assignment will also be an unforgettable and enriching experience for the partner. The Volkswagen Group is a member of Permits Foundation because we strongly believe that any professional company needs accompanying measures not only by regional politics but from strong and comprehensively operating non-governmental institutions as well.
Karen Lange studied economics at the University of Hanover before taking a phd in Hanover and Berkeley.
In 2002, Karen started her career at Volkswagen where she occupied various positions within the HR department. In 2008, she joined the Global Assignments department where she was initially responsible for the European region. In March 2013, Karen became head of Global Assignments.
