Ian was appointed Managing Director of ECA International in October 2006. He joined ECA in 1997 as Commercial Director and subsequently took over responsibility for financial affairs. As Commercial Director, Ian worked closely with multinational companies around the world to develop products and ensure the best standard of service in the industry. Ian is also responsible for ECA's three international offices in Hong Kong, New York and Sydney.

Prior to joining ECA, Ian worked on merger and acquisition projects and government outsourcing bids. Before this he spent 16 years with Ocean Transport and Trading as a troubleshooter and change manager.

Ian has been an expatriate in St Lucia and Paris, and having worked for a major transport company, has spent many months in various cities and ports around the world. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and studied PPE at Oxford University.
